This Skill Assessment Analysis will help you determine your true purpose for existing.

Most folks are going through life groping in the dark, heading to a place called old age or death without making any meaningful mark on earth.

The majority find themselves spending the 8am-5pm chasing the dollar in order to pay the bills.

It is the most valuable period of our lifetime. Valuable because this is the time when the world is looking for your skills to live a better lifestyle.

Yet we rob the world of our skills and waste away ourlives in frustration and regret.

For you, that should change.

Let us be frank here.

As long as you are spending a day trying to survive, you are just as good as a cricket player holding a bat in a soccer field full of soccer players playing football.

Wasting precious time, skills and resources.

You must know why you are here, why you are still alive when someone is heading to the grave and you are remaining.

That must be clear to you, very clear.

If it is not, thank God you are reading this. You are about to implement and ascertain the first step towards living the way you were intended.

In a nutshell, to be the person you were meant to be, you must go though these stages :

》Determine your passion.

》 Identify the skill that expresses your passion.

》Look for education or training programs which can help you to perfect the skill or the product/service that is to be born out of the skill.

》Look out for a mentors to guide you through challenging periods. They are sure to come. Join a club, attend workshops and seminars to test your product/service and broaden your knowledge and influence.

》Join an organisation or set up one to make use of your skills thereby living the way you were meant to be.

Soon your solutions will start making the desired impact and put food on the table.

Follow your passion

The route to living life the way you want, and the way God designed it, is universal :

What do you have?

Every person on earth is born with a passion, talent or a skill to accomplish something in order to live a purposeful, meaningful and satisfying life.

That God-given resource must be developed to a point where it helps many people to live higher lifestyles. If you develop your passion to such a point, it will bring you money.

What is your passion, talent or skill (PTS)?

Can you name it clearly and with confidence?

Stopping here and answering these questions is the starting point to your dream career.

Here are the⤵️ 4 simplified steps to identifying and defining your PTS :

1. Take out a blank piece of paper and a pen.

Sit down into a comfortable place where there will be no disturbances.

Write down the following :

A.} Write this heading at the top of the paper: God-given Money

Then write the subheading: 🔋Passions

Under this heading write down your 3-5 passions in your life.

Here are questions to help you bring them out:

What makes you get excited naturally in life?

List 2 or three things or situations here.

As for me, 1) a construction site, 2) playing soccer as a striker and 3) showing people how to do things are my passions.

What makes you cry or become angry ?

What interests you most in life?

Write down those things. They are your money.

Are you done?

Let's move on ⤵️

B} Write the subheading : 🔋talents

Talents are what you can do very well naturally with your body and which can enhance people's lives.

What can you do with your hands, mouth, mind, legs, body?

Can you play the guitar, sing very well, easily solve maths problems, play a sport without training much to be excellent?

List all your talents here. Even those which you are not sure of. As time goes on, things will become clearer.

Done? Things are taking shape.

C} Write the subheading :🔋Skills

Skills are not much different from talents. We have split them here to clarify that certain passions need specific training in order to express them and deliver value to people. You will make money when you do certain things in a way very few people can.

For example, an engineer, a medical doctor, a banker, an agronomist, a lawyer or pilot does certain things in a unique way to deliver best results.

These people were not born as mentioned. They were born with passions in these fields. As they grew, they realized they had to acquire skills which express their passions in order to deliver a service which people could pay for.

So they went to school, colleges, universities, joined relevant organizations and/or submitted themselves under mentors to acquire and develop the skills.

You should do the same to live life on your terms.

D }3. Now that you know your passions and talents, the next step is to pick and arrange them in your preferred order starting with the most liked passion or talent or skill.

D} 4. We recommend that you must take time to think through the first 3 on the list. That is where your most powerful dream , your career and mega monies are.

Thinking through this list will greatly help you to correctly and acutely determine your number 1, 2 and 3 passions that will lead you to live your most purposeful, meaningful and rewarding career.

The result is that we end up reaching 60years:

1. Learn the internet of things. The world has gone digital.

The world has gone digital. What is your targeted profession. Does it rely much on the Internet?

Probably not. Yet your product or service will be more marketable on the Internet because more people spend time on the internet than reading newspapers. You will be asked to email your copy of CV via Internet. You will probably be advised to look for job or contract details on the Internet.

So whether you like it or not, whatever your profession, you will just have to be competent on using the Internet to put the buck on the table.

Therefore, you better start working on your digital skills if you are to get ahead of your industry because it is taking that route.

To sharpen your proficiency on how to use the Internet, the first port of call is your phone. You must have an internet efficient phone. Coz you want to make sure you are up to date with current trends in your industry. You dont want to finish a course only to be told that your course is more valuable if you had this other qualification.

B) Who are the 5 leading experts in your industry.

3.Learn Networking . It will be the bedrock of your speedious progress.

Networking is the activity of linking up with useful people to get to your desired destination. It has been said that we are 2 or 3 people away from what you are looking for.

Things have become far much more developed than that. You are now your phone away from what you want. With less than 5 clicks, you can get all the information you want about anything without opening your mouth wherever you are as long as you have internet connection.

So, in this WhatsApp age, for example, you must be in at least 5 skill-related groups for updates. There are plenty of clubs, seminars and groups where you can make friends, meet mentors and get ideas in your area of interest.

LinkedIn is one application which must be in your phone. People have secured jobs through LinkedIn. You will link up with school and college friends and get referrals. Some of the referalls will be international.

We encourage you to be part of Campus Lifestyle Entrepreneurial Club (CLEC) to network and share ideas.

Someone once said that if you want to be very good at something, then teach it. In other words, you will grow by sharing what you know. And you will realise that you don't know it all when you hear others giving their take on whatever subject that will be under discussion.

4.Monetise your practical skill. How do you manage stress and fatigue after studying?

. Make sure you leave college having given the world a long lasting solution idea to a problem.

If there was a time for you to try out your ideas on a small scale to test their viability, it is now. But first, let us be clear. Gone are the days when we used to focus on studying only during college time. Today's life demands maximum use of time and resources. In other words , the guy working on his skills to make them bring in an extra dollar will always be ahead of the game in life.

It is nothing new. A number of people have self-financed their education from time immemorial from jobs and projects done whilist they were in college.

The place is Manicaland Province. The setting is a rural area called chinembiri in Mutasa District.

There is a school going by the name usimbe High School. The school has 400 students. Out of those, 45 ave just written their A level examinations. The year is 2019.

Fast forward into 2019. You have this guy who, upon hearing that the A level results are out, goes to school to collect his. How did he come out? Having done 5 subjects,

25 points!

25 points. Think again. Here ia a rural guy living in a rural area which for goodness sake , is underresourced, coming out 25 points at Alevel.

25points from a guy whose fees from Form One have been paid for by BEAM. Obviously, his parents couldn’t afford to pay for him, hence engaging Beam to help.

Nothing new here. Thousands of children are on the BEAM program. More so with the economic meltdown ripping through almost every pocket, purse and wallet.

Here is the amazing part.

The 25point guy journey to his destiny starts with daily routine,. A daily routine very few will care to believe. Believing or not is another issue. We will still say it out.

The guy was living with his parents. He has 4 other siblisings after him. Parents have life going tough. So they applied for BEAM assistance upon realizing the boy had potential to do great exploits in his studies. With the assistance of his teachers, the guy demonstrated complete genius at o lvel when he came out with 6As and 4Bs.

Then came A level. The story gets juicy. The guy comes up with a study routine so unheard of, only those with the determination of lion would dare take up. The school is 8 km away from his homestead. What will you do, if you were to find yourself into his shoes. What comes to mind is looking for a place to lodge, somewhere near the school.

Not this guy. Because there are no resources to rent. So what does he do? The decides: after lessons, I will stay behind to study and go home at 4am in the morning to bath and eat.

This becomes his life style for 2 straight years until he writes his exams.

Can you sustain that?

Can you run the distance?

What will it take to engrain such a determination in you.

A dream.

Dreams are born out of different ovens. The oven of poverty does wonders. Many stories abound of people who rose from the doldrums of lack, were driven by the need to escape it and fought their way to stardom.

We are going to start learning about making mone in life through investing on Stocks Exchanges and Money Markets.

There are 4 ways of making money in life:

These are

1. Working for a company

2. Running a business

3. Working on your own projects

4. Investing the money that you already have in institutions which pay interest. You don't have to work there. You just send your money there to work.

We are going to focus on No. 4

How Investing Works

In Zimbabwe, there are 4 avenues/ ways/ routes in which you can invest money to make more money.

1. Zimbabwe Stock Exchange

Raising share capital

Victoria Falls Stock Exchange. (You invest foreign currency only)

2. Money markets

3. Bonds Market

4. Mikando

Why you should start investing now

1. There is plenty of money changing hands in Zimbabwe everyday.

2. If you know what to do the next time a few of those 👆 dollars come into your hands, you will grow moneyful.

3. If you start learning to invest now, and start doing the investing, by the time you reach 40 years old, you will be far richer than you think now.

4. You better start pestering your parents to help you learn how to invest now.

🌻 *How will these avenues bring you money?*

Never forget this:

There is plenty of money changing hands everyday.

However, there is shortage of money needed by companies to buy raw materials so that they continue to produce goods and services.**

So how they get the money?

Lets use Ok Supermarket as an example to show how this works.

OK Supermarket needs money to open another branch. Currently, the money that it has now, may not be enough to buy the land, build the complex and buy the goods in order to start operating.

But OK Supermarket has done its research and seen that people want a big supermarket in their area and OK is sure that it will make profit.

It does not have enough money to complete the project.

What will it do?

It has 5 avenues to follow in order to get to the money.

That is where it will buy the money.

Yes you heard me right. It will buy the money.

........ and this is where you come in.

1. *Stock Exchange*

a) OK Supermarket will join the stock exchange where you will meet to give them your money by buying small parts of the company called *shares* .

After receiving your money** , OK Supermarket will then go and set up its complex and start operating the new branch.

After a year or so, it will pay you a profit(dividend) according to the number of shares which you bought.

*You have made money.*

b) Also, if you invested $100,00 in January, by the time you reach December, your $100,00 may have grown to $120 or $150 because money attracts money! **

2. *Money Market*

There are companies and banks which lend money to those companies looking for cash to expand their businesses.

These companies are called financial institutions. If OK Supermarket wants to buy more goods (stock) to prepare for more sales during the Christmas or Easter holidays, it can approach a bank and borrow money to buy the stock.

Where do you think banks get the money to give OK Supermarket?

*From you!!!*

So, let's say you have $100 and you deposit it into a bank, the bank will give it OK Supermarket which will use it for a specific period of time.

OK Supermarket will then pay back the money to the bank, with a profit called *interest*

The bank will then pay you your portion of profit.

*You have made money*

3. *Bonds Market*

Banks and financial institutions are the ones who manage this avenue (investment vehicle)

Let's say you have large sums of cash and you want it to earn you more money . You want your money back after 2, 3 or 5 years. You can choose to put your money there.**

*You can preserve your money*

4. *Raising Capital through Shares*

You can make money when you buy shares on the stock exchange for a company that is issuing more shares to raise money for expanding.

Let's say OK Supermarket which is already on the Stock Exchange, does not want to borrow money on the money market but wants to expand its business, it can come to the meeting place - the stock exchange - and offer more parts of its company (shares) to the public.

When you buy those shares (add them to your portfolio)** , *you are on your way to making money*

Why?

Because the price of a share of a company increases and decreases because of several reasons.

*Over time, it increases.*

As the share price increases, your initial amount increases!!

If you bought shares worth $100 and each share was costing $1,00 it means you bought 100 shares, right?

After 10 years the price of each share may have gone to $5.

What does that mean for you?

100 shares X $5,00 = $500,00

Make a claim through the Magistrates Court

Claim through the Magistrates Court

According to the Magistrate Court Rules (Chapter 7:10)

The following procedure is an outline of how to make a claim at the Magistrates Court.

The Second route to making a claim will be updated as we go.

Through this journey called life as we interact and transact with each other , not all transactions will be above board.

The Magistrates Court is a legal place for you to go and seek justice.

The Court system has 3 sections which are the Small Claims Court, the Maintenance Court and the Applications Court.

All these courts are anchored on the Messenger of Court office whose duties include:

🔹Enforce court orders delivered by the courts

🔹Distribute court papers as instructed by yourself, lawyers or the courts.

🔹Administer funds and guards recovered from executions.

Main Procedure

To launch a claim your claim must be legal.You must have resources. If you do not have resources, the government has a social deal to assist but will only assist proven deserving cases.

Your case must have as much evidence as possible otherwise you will waste resources and time.

Find out the cost of the prices at court before you start to see if you can sustain it to its logical conclusion.

Assess your availability when pursuing the case so that you are always available when needed at court.

Gather your evidence and prepare summons. Be sure that the summons are properly drawn with a Defendant's Consent position paper attached at the back of the summons.

Summons are not the only way to start a claim at court. You can proceed with a Court application.

See second column with the procedure.

You can commence your claim with a Court Application.

Make 3 copies of the summons. Take them to court for submission. You will be given a case number and you will pay for a record to be opened for you. The Clerk of Court will stamp the copies, keep one and give you 3 stamped copies back. ENSURE you go to court with your ID.

Take the 3 copies to the Messsenger of Court for submission. Draw a letter asking the Messenger of Court to serve the summons on Defendant.

Pay for this service. Leave your contact details.

The MOC must look for the Defendant twice to serve him if he is not available.

After 7 working days, go back to the MOC to collect the Return of Service which advises whether the MOC managed to serve Defendant. If there are issues with locating the defendant, sort them out.

Count 7 days from the day summons were served on Defendant and then go and check with the Clerk Of Court if Defendant did not reply. The date is on the Return of Service.

If Defendant did not, you may proceed to prepare an Application for Default Judgement. File it at court together with a copy of the Return of Service which you collected from the Moc.

If Defendant replied, be advised his position. There are 3 possible responses for Defendant.

Defendant can consent to your claim and offer to settle. Make sure a Deed of Settlement is drawn, and filed in court setting out terms of the consent.

After 5 days, check to see whether the Application was granted by the Magistrate. If not, attend to issues raised as queries

Second possible response is for Defendant partially consent to part or parts of your claim. If this happens, draw up a Deed of Setting out the terms of 9Settlement. Ensure it is filed at court.

When granted, proceed to file a Court Order and Warrant of Execution.

The third response is for Defendant to seek clarification from you through paper called pleadings. When he is satisfied that you have shade more light on the details of your claim, Defendant can then file a plea to say he denies the claim.

In the event that you want the issues debated in an open court, ensure that you prepare and file at court, Pretrial Conference papers, outlining the specific issues to be debated. Defendant can also filed other related issues.

On the PTC day, ensure that you attend. Agree on issues to debate. If Defendant offers to settle out of court, you may proceed provided the proposal is acceptable.

If there is specific evidence or books which you intend to use during court, you may prepare Discovery Paper outlining the nature of evidence and file at court. Ensure you file a proof of service every time you serve Defendant with court papers.

On theday of Court, ensure that you attend court, when you present your case, stick to facts and back up your facts with evidence.

You will be advised of date for to collect judgement. On the day, the Clerkbof Court will advise.

If judgement is in your favour, proceedbto prepare an order and warrant as per judgement delivered by the Magistrate.

Defend a matter in Court through a lawyer

According to the Magistrate Court Rules of 2007

Defending a matter can be stressful process.

The lawyer's, by nature of their job, tend to have plenty of work piling up on their desks.

This can lead to some cases not getting due attention. The result can be fatal. In fact, it is folly to leave tracking progress of your case to the lawyer's alone.

Here is heads up on what you should know, watch out for and keep tracking to ensure you don't unnecessarily lose a case.

But just a quick one here: Always make sure you get a photocopy of every paper filed at court. That will help you in many ways which we can't exhaust here.

1			After you have received summons from the Plaintiff, ensure that a court paper called Appearance to Defend is prepared and filed at court within 7 days from the day you received the summons
2a	Within those 7 days, if you feel the claim is justified and legal and there are no issues to argue over, ensure you come up with a Consent Paper and file it at court and serve Plaintiff with a copy	2b	Within those 7 days, if you do not agree to the claim, ensure that through your lawyer, you file a plea which is a document stating your position that you deny the claim in its entirety .	2c	Within those 7 days, if you do not agree to the claim, and you feel that the claim is not clear, ensure that you file at court and serve Plaintiff with a copy of Request For Further Particulars in which you are seeking further clarification. You are basically asking the Plaintiff to provide more information about his claim.	2d	Within those 7 days, ensure that you file your counterclaim.
	Ensure that you promptly settle the claim to the lawyer and keep the proof of settlement. Be wise to quickly ask for court and legal charges which you have already incurred as a result of the court action by Plaintiff.		Ensure that 3 copies are stamped and one is filed at court, the other is served to Plaintiff, the other is filed in your filed at the lawyer's office. Get a photocopy for record purposes.		These requests must be served within 7 days from the time Plaintiff serves you with replies. You can ask for these clarifications several times and then you think you have enough information regarding the claim, ensure that you file a Plea.
	If you do not have the money to pay promptly, ensure you prepare a Deed of Settlement and have your lawyer discuss your proposed plan of payment.		Expect a response in the form of papers called Pre Trial Conference papers in which Plaintiff is outlining issues which he believes need to be debated for the court to determine whether you are liable or not. Ensure you get the date of that PTC.		When you have filed a Plea, expect to receive Pre Trial Conference papers from Plaintiff. In the Plea, you have the opportunity to consent to part of the claim and deny the other parts. In this case, you simply file a Deed of Settlement for the part that you agree to. As for other parts, file and serve Requests For Further Particulars for the part that you don’t agree to.
	Once both parties have agreed to the terms, file the final version at court and stick to the terms. A court case must be settled through court process. Insist on the Deed of Settlement drawn up and filed at court. Get a court stamped copy. It will defend you in future if anything goes the wrong way.		If you think there are other issues which they have left out and want them included, ensure that you file yours at court and serve a copy to Plaintiff before the PTC date. 			On the PTC day, ensure that you attend. If you have decided to acceed to the claim, you can offer your consent. The magistrate will draw up the terms of the order. The clerk of court will type the order.

			Ensure that you fulfil the terms of the order granted . If you fail, be quick to communicate to the other party beforehand and offer a remedy.
			Fialure to communicate effectively can lead Plaintiff to prepare a Warrant of Execution which will lead to you losing property, resources or freedom.
			In the event that you want the issues debated in an open court, ensure that during the Pretrial Conference meeting, you agree on the issues to be debated.
			You will be given a court date during PTC. Ensure you prepare your evidence and arguments. Make available all the evidence available to your lawyer, no matter how small or silly. The lawyer will decide how to use it.
			Attend court. Do attend court. Failure to do so detrimental. You can lose a case and resources if you are not diligent l.
			If judgment is granted against you, Plaintiff will most likely immediately file an Order and Warrant of Execution to enforce judgement. Ensure that you propose, discuss and agree on a Deed of Settlement. Ensure the Deed of Settlement is signed and filed. Get a copy with court stamp.
			If you fail to comply with the judgment, the Messenger of Court may effect the Order which comes in various forms: attachment of property, eviction, garnishing of salary or bank accounts, restrictions etc
